What Gear Do I Use?
Camera
My main Camera is the Sony A7iii in fact I love this camera so much I currently bring 2 with me! There are lots of reasons why i think this camera is ideal for wildlife but to name a few:
It’s full frame so it provides fantastic performance in Low Light
Can shoot up to 10fps which for the vast majority of subjects I find is more than enough
The 24mp sensor is great and provides ample resolution as well as ability to crop in post.

Lens
The Sigma 150-600mm f5-6.3 Sports DG DN OS Lens for Sony E despite has been such a workhorse for be being an absolute mouthful to pronounce! For me it is the wonderful versatility it provides that sells it. Being able to reach out to 600mm is essential for wildlife. But it’s more than just this the sharpness of the lens combines so well with the camera in extracting detail. Meaning if I need to crop in then I am more than happy to do so. In addition to getting far away subjects the minimum focus distance this lens has comes in handy more often than you would think out on hikes.

Camera Bag
I have used 2 bags for a long time and they fit my 600mm, albeit a little snug. These were the Lowepro 400 AW and the Thinktank Streetwalker.
Over time however I started to outgrow these bags and rather than looking at getting another bag I wondered if it were possible to adapt a non camera bag to suit my needs for far less. So after a little DIY that is what I am currently using!
There’s still bits I am improving such as trying to make my needlework look less like a cobweb but I am really enjoying doing so and would definitely do it again if I ever needed another bag down the line.
